We suggest taking it for at least one month. This is usually about the size of one package or bottle, give or take. Herbs (like other things) take time to build up in our system and begin to make changes internally and even externally. We also recommend listening to your body and adjusting the dosage as you see fit. Some people are more sensitive to others and will do very well taking less or more than the recommended dosage.
For more details see this article, which details five categories of how long it may take: How Long Does It Take For Herbs To Work?
Our herbs can be taken in a number of different ways. For the powders, the easiest is to mix them into a glass of water, stirring well. They can also be added to juice and other drinks, including blending them into shakes and smoothies. Some people even just scoop the powders into their mouth then wash them down with water. Each herb or formula page will have details on how to best take them so check there, including videos to walk you through it.
This post, How to Take Herbs, goes into more detail, including the different types.
For tinctures, you squirt them into your mouth and hold them under your tongue. More details on how to take tinctures here.
Your first order also comes with an ebook which will provide lots of new ideas as well as recipes.
In general, all of our herbs can be taken successfully with or without food. If it is important to do so, one way or the other, it will be clearly spelled out on the product page and packaging. If it is not then it works fine either way. For more details see this blog post: Take Herbs With Food or Without?
Any time! First thing in the morning is a good time. A second time around noon or evening also works. It depends on how many times in the day you want to take the herbs. If there are specific recommendations this will be addressed on the product page and packaging, like some of the herbs good for sleep should be taken before bed.
It depends on the herb. Most of them are already processed with heat or other means and thus are fine to add to boiling water or cooked meals. In other cases where it is just a powder heat might cause the loss of some nutrition, like in pine pollen and the berry powders. Even if that is the case, it is limited in it’s effect. In general, it is best to store herbs in cool, dry place.
Yes. For some herbs you may want to take a break from them every once in awhile, which will be indicated on the product pages, but the majority of these are tonic herbs, meaning you can take them every day for the rest of your life and it wouldn’t be a problem. For more about cycling herbs, which herbs you should do that with, and which you don’t have to read this article.
This is individual to the person. There are no additives like caffeine but the energy stimulating of certain herbs like Ant, Rhodiola, Schisandra, Shilajit and more could cause some people to stay awake. The best bet is to try taking them at night and see if they keep you awake or not. Meanwhile, other herbs such as Albizia, Ziziphus, Blue Vervain, and Ashwagandha can be supportive of going to sleep.
Certain herbs would be beneficial to take before a workout like our Hercules Pre-Workout Formula. Others may be more beneficial afterward. But the truth is even these are interchangeable. Phoenix Formula works great both ways. Once again, we recommend you experiment and find what works best for you.
Recommended dosages are included in the descriptions of each herb as well as on the packaging. You are encouraged to start with that dose, but then modify this amount up or down depending on how much you feel you need to get the results you’re looking for. For more details read this post all about dosing with herbs.
For more details see the how to make herbal tinctures here. Tinctures should only be made out of herbs that are in whole form, like the pollens. Most of what we have available has already been extracted so it would not be optimal to make a tincture out of it. If you want to do that get raw herbs elsewhere.
The best place to store herbs is in miron glass jars. Unless otherwise stated all herbs available here are shelf stable. It is suggested to store them by closing the bags or using other containers, in a cool, dry place. No refrigeration needed. More details on storing herbs found in this post on shelf life.

Sourcing Questions
Different herbs come from different places. Right now, the majority of our herbs come from China, India and Tibet. A few of them come from the USA, also Malaysia, Europe and Peru. If you click the Additional Details tab on any product page you’ll see where it is from. You can also see this article for a complete breakdown of each herb and formula’s source.
We do independent testing each and every herb and these tests are posted on the product pages. In addition, we seek out the best quality herbs from reputable companies. Sometimes this involves changing our supplier as needed in order to stay committed to our high standards. For instance we have stricter heavy metals standards that government regulations dictate.
We value transparency. All of our product pages state what is in the herb, which is in most cases just the herb and nothing else. A few of the herbs use non-gmo/organic maltodextrin to go from liquid to powdered extract form. Our tongkat ali capsules have organic rice powder in them for the volume of the capsule. Again, these are clearly spelled out in the product pages. Beyond these few mentioned things there are no added chemicals, no additives and no excipients.
Side Effects and Problems

It is possible. Again, these details will be listed on the individual product pages down near the bottom. Also please view this in depth article all about herb and drug interactions.
In general, the side effects of herbs are non-existent to mild. However there are exceptions as not every herb works for every person. These will be listed on the individual page of each herb, down near the bottom.
